Reactions to Academy Award nominations: Jonah Hill, Moneyball (Best Supporting Actor): ”I am so humbled, appreciative and in shock about this incredible honor. I’d like to thank the Academy, Sony Pictures , the cast and crew of Moneyball, Brad Pitt, and, most of all, our brilliant director Bennett Miller.”
I genuinely think Jonah Hill is a good actor, and probably one of my favorites of the Apatow cult, but the fact that he’s nominated for the part he played in Moneyball is one of the most hilarious things to happen to me recently. It’s by no means his fault — he was lucky enough to give a perfectly adequate performance in one of the most notable movies of the year, and ride Brad Pitt’s coattails all the way to the Academy. I mean, I’m sure when he found out, his publicist gave that little speech and then Jonah went back to trolololing in his mansion. Well played, Hill.
